The Melanie’s Miles 5K Trail Run/Walk will be a fun fitness event, bringing together runners, walkers  and supporters from Blair Academy, Blairstown and beyond.  It will include a 5K trail race on Blair’s scenic and challenging cross-country course, a children’s 1 mile fun-run, an awards ceremony, refreshments and entertainment. We look forward to sharing this inaugural event with our community! 

Named in honor of late Blairstown resident Melanie Humphrey, the fund assists area families affected by lung cancer with day-to-day expenses and supports lung cancer education and prevention. Melanie, mom of current Blair Academy students Tanner and Logan, was a nurse at the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center in East Stroudsburg before losing her battle with lung cancer in 2012.  In collaboration with the Pocono Health Foundation, Melanie’s sons are working with a team of Blair students, faculty, and staff as well as volunteers from the Blairstown area to honor and continue their mom’s passion for helping others affected by cancer through the Melanie’s Miles 5K Run/Walk.

Race Day Registration begins @ 7:30am

Course: The scenic and challenging Blair Academy Cross Country course (home to the annual State Prep X-country meet) offers a combination of flat and hilly sections in four intersecting loops.
