5th Annual Reindeer Run - Elkhorn ~ Results

• 5K Run/Walk:- Run/Walk 3.1 Miles

-) Get Groovy!  Whether you're a flower child or a far-out fat cat, go grab your funky gear and meet us at the starting line!  Our route for the 5K run/walk starts at beautiful Sunset Park, winds through the charming city streets, and ends back at Sunset Park for awards in categories of fastest finishers and best holiday dressed! 

Dress up "Fido" for more chances to win prizes!  Strut Your Mutt is a free event at 9:30 AM, and there is no need to register.  Just meet us out at the Lions Den pavilion.

Children can register for the 100 or 50 yard Grinch Sprint (ages 1-12).  The fastets sprinter will have the honor of being the one to catch and "Cage the Grinch" in this fun dash!

Check-in / Registration:    8:00 am – 9:30 am

Strut Your Mutt:               9:30 am - 10:00 am

Reindeer Run:                  10:00 am

100 & 50 Yard Grinch Sprint:    11:00 am

Awards:                           11:15 am

Location: Race starts and finishes at Sunset Park on a timed course.

Early Packet Pick-up

All race packets may be picked up on Friday, December 1st from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in the Recreation Center at Sunset Park.

Awards

We will be giving awards to the most groovy and most holiday spirit, along with best dressed teams! Must be present to win.

The top three male and female finishers in each age category receive medals, and fastest male and fastest female overall will receive a giant wreath.

Inclement Weather

Event will be held rain or shine. Sorry, no refunds.

Food/Toy Donation

Runners are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or toy to support “Christmas for the Kids” sponsored by St. John’s. Barrels will be located near registration.

Facilities

The registration and indoor bathrooms will be at Sunset Park in the Recreation Building, 200 Devendorf Street. Refreshments will be served in the Lion’s Den pavilion.

Safety Restrictions

For safety reasons, in-line skates, roller skates, skateboards or bicycles are not allowed on the course. If you will be running or walking with a stroller, please stay toward the back of the group during race line-up and yield to other runners and walkers on the course.

Pets

 If you are bringing your dressed up dog, all pets must be on a leash. Pets are not allowed in the Recreation Center building.

Volunteer!

Each volunteer will receive one free Sunset Pool Day Pass for the 2017 summer! Help would be appreciated with preparation, set-up, registration, route direction, and /or tear-down.

Support Staff

Volunteers and Elkhorn Recreation Department Staff will be available throughout the course and at race start and finish.
