2017 will mark the 8th Annual Spooktacular 5K to be held as a part of the Oblong Fall Follies, this community’s annual fall festival.  The date is set: October 28, 2017.  We hope to welcome the biggest crowd ever.  And beginning right NOW you can register online!

We attempt to keep our registration costs low (only $25) so as to welcome as many participants as we possibly can to our annual race.  Would you help us break a record this year?  We’d love to welcome 200 runners/walkers! Can we do it?  Yes, we can!

The race begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Oblong City Park.  The Oblong Children’s Christian Home is pleased to be the first event of the day!  (Many athletes enjoy the pancake breakfast offered immediately after at the First United Methodist Church as well.)

The 3.1-mile route is flat and fast, but this is just a fun run.  We do not chip time, but we do have fun. In previous years, we’ve had runners and walkers dress in costume even!  Participate as a group, challenge your co-workers, or encourage your small group to walk/run with you.

If you register before October 18, 2017, you’ll be guaranteed an event tee, sized to your expectation.  And, because they were so popular a couple of years back, we are bringing back the 3/4 sleeve baseball tee for our commemorative shirt this year.

If you’d like to register online, you have two choices.  You can register now, confirm your spot, and pay via check or cash on the day of the event.  If you choose this option, an invoice will be mailed to you.  Click here to take advantage of this registration arrangement.
