Experience the glory of the Great Columbia River as you trek across the Astoria Megler Bridge during this unique opportunity to walk/run across this bridge! It is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America. Whether you're an experienced runner or looking for a family friendly event, the Great Columbia Crossing 10k appeals to everyone. This unique road race crosses state lines with the starting area in Washington and the finish line in Oregon.
The 10k offers a scenic adventure on a fairly flat road with one STEEP incline to the peak of the bridge.
There is no parking at the race starting area at Dismal Nitch. All participants should plan to take a shuttle. Shuttle buses begin departures at 6:30 AM from:
1) Port of Astoria: located in the large empty lot at the foot of Basin Street at the Port of Astoria. Parking is offered a couple of blocks away from the loading. Participants without a bib, included in your packet, WILL NOT be allowed on a shuttle bus or on the bridge.
2) Port of Chinook: turn off Water or Olympia Streets and follow signs for GCX parking. Participants without a bib, included in your packet, WILL NOT be allowed on a shuttle bus or on the bridge.
10k Run/Competitive Walk: $45 (includes disposable electronic bib chip)
10k Walk: $40 (only registered runners & competitive walkers are chip timed & eligible for medals)
