The Black Cat Chase 5K Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by Whitaker Bank, is one of the regions most popular and entertaining races. This traditional race is filled with fun and excitement, from both the race participants and spectators! With the Halloween themed festivities, such as costumes, Halloween music and more; this is a great event for the entire family. Whether you choose to participate by yourself, with a friend or spouse, school or work group, or with the whole family, the Black Cat Chase 5K will be sure to deliver high quality entertainment for everyone involved!

RACE TIMING & RESULTS:
Electronic chip timing will be used for fast and accurate race time results. We will even offer a new feature this year that allows you to receive a text message or email immediately after crossing the finish line! Be sure to follow instructions in the race registration to you ensure you select your preferred race results communication.

AWARDS:
Awards will be given to the top five overall male and female participants, the top three participants in each age division, and the top three teams (minimum of 5 runners per team). School prizes, best group costumes, and other fun awards will also be distributed.

T-SHIRTS:
All participants receive a long sleeved Black Cat Chase T-shirt with registration.* Upgrade to a tech shirt for only $10 more.

*Participants must register by October 19th in order to have a guaranteed shirt by race day.  Those registering after October 19th risk not receiving shirt prior to race day.  If this occurs, a notification will be sent out to inform participants when their shirts may be picked up at the Y.

CHILD CARE AVAILABLE:
We will offer complimentary child care for parent/guardians who will be participating in the race. Child care will be taking place at the Downtown YMCA from 6:00-8:30pm. We accept children 6 wks and up. Sign-in your child at the lobby of the YMCA. Younger children will be in the upstairs multi-purpose room, and older children will be in the gymnasium on the first floor.

PICTURES:
Event pictures will be taken by April Cole with Digital Expressions and Capital Living. Photos will be posted on Capital Living about a week post race. We will also make a post on our social media sites and website when pictures are available. There will also be a few race photos taken by The State Journal.
