Ready, Set, Go! 5K Fun Run & Walk...

• 5K Run/Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

This event serves to raise money for science and math education in the Brazos Valley. PLU is an honor society for chemistry graduate students. One of our major focuses is philanthropies in the local community, and this fun run allows us to help provide learning materials for area science and math teachers in a time where public funding for education is minimal. Our focus on STEM fields directly applies to PLU's mission. Area science and math teachers are invited to submit grant proposals that will be scored and ranked according to scientific merit and need. Each selected proposal will be funded in amounts of up to $500. All donations from companies and businesses will be used to support the event and grant awards. Also, it is our intent to supplement these funds with additional money from our organization, as our budget will allow.

Event details and schedule

• Start time: 9:00 AM
• Parking: TAMU Lot 50
• Running route: Starting from Lot 50, to University Drive, Texas Ave., George Bush Drive and coming back to Lot 50.
• Water bottles and protein bars will be provided to runners at the end of the fun.
• Door prizes will be awarded for fastest female and male runners.
