The Seventh Annual Clydes Run will be held in Mountain Park, GA at 8 am on Saturday, July 16, 2011 on the village green. We invite you to be a part of this annual event honoring a favorite son, Charles Walden Clyde Mays.

Georgias smallest incorporated city, Mountain Park is tucked in to the corner of N Fulton, S Cherokee and NE Cobb counties. In keeping with small town traditions, this annual event is supported by friends, families and businesses.

The lakes, trees and hills provide residents and visitors with the serenity of N GA mountains--and the perfect challenge for runners and walkers.

Clyde died at age 24 in July of 2004, due to complications of Prader-Willi Syndrome. PWS is an unusual and devastating genetic condition that causes mental, emotional and physical abnormalities. Clyde was well known and well-loved for his courage, enthusiasm and energy. As a runner, avid fisherman, and advocate for the disabled, Clyde inspired people in Mountain Park, Atlanta and across Georgia.

The city of Mountain Park is in north Fulton County, surrounded by Roswell and bordering Cherokee County.  From 400 North, take exit 7B onto Holcomb Bridge Road; from 400 South, use the Holcomb Bridge Road exit; Holcomb Bridge Road becomes Crossville and then Woodstock Road.  Go about 5 miles to the Super Target shopping center with a Chic-Fil-a on the corner.  Turn right on to Mountain Park Road and follow the signs (about 1.5 miles) to event parking at Mountain Park Elementary School.  Shuttles will be available to the Village Green where the race starts.
