_ The 2018 Bataan Volunteers:

This is registration for our event volunteers. Before registering, please take a look at all available positions and the shift (time AND day) that you are required to be present and select your position and shift. You will see the volunteer title and shift on the registration page.

2017 Bataan Volunteer Descriptions

Marcher Race Packet Preparer
# Needed 24 (4 each day each shift) 
Shift:  0800-120
Dates March 8-10, 2017 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and 13-15, 2017
(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) 
Supervisor:  Sky Clarke
Description:  Assembles packet with marcher items in an organized neat
manner.  must be 13 year or older, and accompanied by an adult.  Must be
able to move quickly and at a steady pace performing repetitive action.
Keeps like items assembled in the designated area and stocked for packet.
Approximate time needed is 4 hours.  On the job training will be provided.  
Report to Sky Clarke at Bell Gym, Bldg. 236, Picatinny Ave.

Marcher Bag Preparer
# Needed: 40 
Shift:  0900-1400
Date:  Saturday, 11 March 2017
Supervisor:  Lisa Frankson
Description:  Assembles bags with marcher items in an organized and neat manner.  Must be 13 years or older, and accompanied by an adult.  Must be able to move quickly and at a steady pace performing repetitive actions.  Keeps like items assembled in the designated areas and stocked for bagging.  Approximate time needed is 5 hours.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Ms. Lisa Frankson at the In-Processing Building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue. 


Marcher Bag Runner***
# Needed: 12 (3 each shift, each day) 
Shift: 0830-1500 & 1430-2100
Dates: Friday, March 17 2017 & Saturday 18 March 2017
Supervisor: Lisa Frankson
Description: Assist FMWR personnel in-processing Participants registered for March.   Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  Will be moving from station to station retrieving marcher’s bags.  Reports to Ms. Lisa Frankson at the In-Processing Building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue. 


In-Processing Traffic Director***
# Needed: 4 (1 each shift each day) 
Shifts: 0830-1500 & 1430-2100 (2 each shift)
Dates: Friday 17, March 2017 & Saturday 18 March 2017
Supervisor: Lisa Frankson
Description: Assist Bataan Director in directing participants through the in-processing line and provide information when needed.  Keeps the lines moving.  Report to Lisa Frankson at the In-Processing Building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue.  


In-Processing
# Needed: 20 (5 per shift, each day)
Shifts:  0830-1500, 1430-2100
Dates:  Friday, 17 March and Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Lisa Frankson
Description:  Assists F&MWR personnel in-processing participants registered for the march.  Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and stand and move quickly, half the volunteers will verify marcher registration, print participant’s certificates, distribute items, and refer questions to proper personnel.  Must be able to type and be computer literate. The other half will be pulling marcher packets for percipients and moving from station to station.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Ms. Lisa Frankson at the in-processing building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue.  


**In-Processing Timing
# Needed: 16 (8 each shift, each day)
Shift:  0830-1500, 1430-2100
Date:  Friday, 17 March and Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Bill Velez
Description:  Assist in distributing bibs and timing chips to in-processing participants.  Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Mr. Bill Velez at the in-processing building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue.  


Framing
# Needed: 4 (1 per shift, each day)
Shift:  0830-1500, 1430-2100
Date:  Friday, 17 March and Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Al Fuller
Description:  Assemble frames with mats and certificates.  Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Arts & Crafts Manager Al Fuller at the In-Processing building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue.


Information Booth 
# Needed: 4 (1 per shift, each day) (4 Volunteers and 4 CYSS staff/Bataan Director) 
Shift:  0830-1500, 1430-2100
Date:  Friday, 17 March and Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Lisa Frankson
Description:  Available to all participants during in-processing to answer general questions, distribute post maps, and give directions.  Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, and familiarize themselves with details of the post and event.  On the job training will be provided.  It is advised to review the website in advance.  Report to Ms. Lisa Frankson at the in-processing building, (MST) 1318 Aerobee Avenue.  


PDC Survivor Assistance
# Needed: 2
Shift:  1330-1730
Date:  Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Pasty Gomez
Description:  Assists MWR Personnel in taking care of the survivors on Saturday during “Meet the Survivors of Bataan” at the Professional Development Center.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Pasty Gomez at the Professional Development Center (PDC), 465 Rock Island Avenue, no later than 1:30 pm. 


Water Point 3/9 Traffic Director
# Needed: 4
Shift:  0700-1500
Date:  Sunday 19 March 2017
Supervisor:  Mel Allen
Description:  Water Point Marshals are responsible for directing marchers to the proper route at water point 3/9 where the two routes split apart.  Requires volunteers to stand for long periods, and must be alert and assertive.  This is a key position, and MUST have all volunteers present.  Must be available for job information brief approximately 1 week prior to the event.  


Sponsorship Assistant
# Needed: 4   (1 wed, 1 thus and two on Sunday) 
Shift:  0900-1400
Date:  Wednesday, 15 March, Thursday, 16 March and Sunday 19 March 2017
Supervisor:  Mark Vest
Description:  Assist MWR personnel in placing and removing sponsorship signs and banners around the course.  Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs., and be dressed comfortably.  On the job training provided.  Reports to Mr. Mark Vest at MWR building, 501 Aberdeen Avenue, Room 10.


Lost & Found/ Information Booth
# Needed: 2
Shift:  1200-1800
Date:  Sunday, 19 March 2017
Supervisor:  Lisa Frankson
Description:  Operate information booth and lost & found center outside the Frontier Club during the march.  Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, answer basic questions, secure found items  until ownership can be determined, and provide maps and directions.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Ms. Lisa Frankson at Bataan Directors trailer.


Finish Line Timing **
# Needed: 15 (7 per 0830-1500 shift & 8 per 1430-2100 shift) 
Shift:  0830-1500, 1430-2000
Date:  Sunday, 19 March 2017
Supervisor:  Bill Velez
Description:  Assist timing personnel during the march.  Ensures timing antenna towers are moved and marchers’ chips register when passing over the timing antenna towers.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to timing Supervisor at the finish line.



FRONTIER CLUB VOLUNTEERS

Breakfast Pack Preparation
# Needed: 2 
Shift:  1000-1500
Date:  Thursday, 16 March 2017 
Supervisor:  Ethan Ruff
Description:  Assist Frontier Club staff in filling breakfast/snack bags, set supplies for the weekend, and organize weekend services.  Must be able to stand for extended periods, move at a steady pace, lift 20-40 pounds, and follow multi-step instructions.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Frontier Club Manager, Ethan Ruff no later than 0900 Food Handler’s certification is NOT required.


Breakfast Dining Room Support
# Needed: 2
Shift:  0600-1100
Date:  Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Ethan Ruff
Description:  Assist Frontier Club staff bussing tables, cleaning dining room, and keeping beverages stocked during regular breakfast service.  Must be able to stand for extended periods, move at a steady pace, and lift 20-40 pounds.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Frontier Club Manager, Ethen Ruff NLT 0600.  Food Handler’s certification is NOT required.


Pasta Buffet

Shift:  1600-2200
Date:  Saturday, 18 March 2017
Supervisor:  Ethan Ruff
Description:  Assist Frontier Club staff during the pasta buffet dinner on the eve of the March.  Must be able to stand for extended periods, move at a steady pace, and lift 20-40 pounds.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Frontier Club Manager, Ethan ruff at the Frontier Club no later 1530.  Food Handler’s certification is NOT required.


Servers, Survivor’s Breakfast
# Needed: 4
Shift:  0630-1100
Date:  Sunday, 19 March 2017
Supervisor:  Ethan Ruff
Description:  Assist MWR personnel in providing breakfast service to the Bataan Survivors.  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays of food and dishes.  On the job training will be provided.  Reports to Mr. Ethan Ruff at the Frontier Club no later than 0630.


 Frontier Club Breakfast Support
# Needed: 4
Shift:  0600-1100
Date:  Sunday, 19 March 2017
