_ The 2018 CT Veterans Day Patriot Race:
Easy and Fast 4 Mile Course
The CT Veterans Day Patriot Race is a 501.c.3 organization that raises funds to thank and support local veteran organizations. These include the American Legion, the DAV and the Women Marines Association. Proceeds help veterans in need to cover transportation costs for VA medical visits, shelters for homeless female veterans and suicide prevention. The course is fun and scenic from the lake, past the memorial green and the CT Vietnam Memorial, past two horse farms and back to Patriots Park. After race food a beverages are available. Kids fun run starts after the race.
Four mile course starts at the band shell at Patriots Park. From the park turns south on Lake Street, then right on South Street, left on Judd Lane, Left on Nathan Hale Road, left on Bunker Hill, right on South Street and back to the park. The course is fast and scenic.
From all points travel to Route 31 toward South Coventry. Turn south onto Lake Street, Patriots Park is one quarter mile on the right.
_ Rain or shine our event proceeds. Salute to our veterans and their families begins at 9:45 am. Race starts at 10:00 am sharp. Awards are three deep, male and female, ages under 10 to 70. Food canteen of Chili and hot dogs provided by the American Legion. Low cost Beer Garden available. Flag for kids to cheer on the runners. Military displays and more!
