7 a.m. – 5K / 10k & 1 Mile Fun Run

Course is USATF Certified

 

The 3rd Annual Freedom Fest Run is a 3.1 & 6.2 Mile Run/Walk & 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk through historic downtown LaFayette.

Both routes begin and end at the LaFayette Recreation Department in LaFayette, GA.

 

You’ll absolutely fall in love with the small town atmosphere and historical sites. At race headquarters, you can grab an American flag or other patriotic gear while you check your results, listen to music, and enjoy the race site festivities. Or if spectating is more your thing, feel free to come out in your patriotic attire and encourage the runners!

 

On June 29th at Packet Pick-up, feel free to stay and join the City of LaFayette for their annual Freedom Festival. What is the Freedom Festival you ask?

 

The Freedom Festival

There will be something for everyone with over 50 vendors present, fresh food, and live music throughout the day. There will also be a free swim from 3-8 pm, Ultimate Frisbee Exhibition at 5:30 pm, Old Timers Game 7:00 pm, and fireworks will begin at 9:45 pm.

The location is at the LaFayette Municipal Park at 638 S. Main Street and will begin at 3:00 pm.

Admission is free for everyone.

 

 

Race Headquarters - LaFayette Recreation Department. At Race Headquarters you can find Registration, Start & Finish Line, First Aid, Restrooms, Refreshments, Music, and much more!

 

Parking - Designated areas are located within the LaFayette Rec. Department. Parking signs will be posted.

 

*Proceeds benefit the LaFayette Shop With A Cop Program and LaFayette Rambler Running, the local high school Cross Country, and Track & Field programs.

3rd Annual Freedom Fest Run
The 3rd Annual Freedom Fest Run will be held on Saturday,
July 1 in historic downtown Lafayette, Georgia. The Freedom
Fest Run is a certified 5K/10k course as well as a 1-mile fun run. Sights seen on the run course include beautiful downtown Lafayette, the Lafayette Municipal Golf Course, and the Historic Marsh House.
The race course is a one loop course that begins and finishes at the LaFayette Recreation Department. There will be a double water stop located roughly at the 1-mile mark, ensuring water at each mile of the race. The 5k will be chip timed by Scenic City Multisport.
5k Entry Fee
Early Bird Pricing Until 6/1:  Individual=$25  Teams of 5=$100
Regular Pricing From 6/1 - 6/28: Individual=$30  Teams of 5=$125
On-site Registration 6/29 - 6/30: Individual=$35  Teams of 5=$150 

10k Entry Fee
Early Bird Pricing Until 6/1:  Individual=$30  
Regular Pricing From 6/1 - 6/28: Individual=$35  
On-site Registration 6/29 - 6/30: Individual=$40  

The 1-Mile Fun Run is $15 until 6/29 and $20 at packet pick-up and on race day.

Georgia Highlands Race Series!

The Georgia Highlands Race Series 2018 will consist of a short distance (SD) series and a long distance (LD) series! For this first year, the short distance series will consist of the Freedom Fest 5k and the Reindeer Run 5k races.  The long distance series will consist of the Freedom Fest 10k and the Reindeer Run 5k.  Points will be awarded based on overall finish in each age group in each race event. To be eligible for the Georgia Highland Race Series Awards, participants must meet the following requirements: For the short distance series, participants MUST compete in both 5k race events to qualify for overall series awards. For the long distance, series participants MUST compete in the 10k and 5k events listed above to qualify for the overall series awards.
