_ The 39th Annual Salem April Fool's Race: 

               Run in scenic and historic Salem, N.Y.  Numerous prizes and fun for all--expert or

          novice runners.  The scenic runs begin at Salem High School and end there.

Event details and schedule

The Salem April Fool’s Race 10K is an out and back course which take runners from Salem Central School on rural roads to a turn-a-round point on Black Creek Road. This race features a peaceful cemetery, a dairy farm, a bridge over Black Creek, and a view of the Green Mountains of Vermont on the return run.

New starting times for the 10K at 9 AM and 5K at 10:30 AM.

The 5K race is run on a loop course starting and finishing at Salem Central School. There are some challenging hills and various road surfaces.

The one mile course is run all on school grounds. It starts with one lap around the track, continues out the driveway to the high school wing and returns to the finish line at the bus garage.
