_ The 2018 Hot Pursuit 5K Glow Run & 1 Mile Fun Run:

HELP SUPPORT ABUSED CHILDREN IN ETOWAH COUNTY and our LOCAL CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER, the JAMES M. BARRIE CENTER FOR CHILDREN! #nighttime #glowrun

•PACKET PICK UP - Come to the packet pickup at ACADEMY SPORTS + OUTDOOR, GADSDEN on Friday, AUG 10th, to receive your race day bib, tee-shirt (if you made the cut off date), and goodie bag. If you can't make it to packet pick-up, don't fret; you're welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your race day necessities - as long as they come armed with a copy of everyone's registration confirmation. We strongly encourage you to come to the early race package pickup on Friday, August 10th at Academy Sports + Outdoors on George Wallace Drive 4PM-7PM.

🗺🌎•THE COURSE - The course will take runners here: TBA 
Runners and walkers will be guided by lights, patrol cars, and live music by: TBA. There will be many volunteers throughout the course helping with directions, and the course will be clearly marked. All runners will line up in front and then the walkers behind them. 🔂🔃•5K COURSE - TBA 

🎁🏆AWARDS & DOOR PRIZES - The awards ceremony will begin immediately following the end of the race as the results are in, at the Mort Glosser Amphitheater (Gadsden Amphitheater;  90 Walnut Street, Gadsden, AL 35901)

•Age groups will be 10-under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-up

🚺🚹🚻•RESTROOMS - Women’s and Men’s restrooms are located at the Amphitheater. Four (4) additional unisex port-a-johns will be located along the event area as well.

🚧🚗•RACE DAY PARKING - We will have lots of parking for this event. Parking will be across the street in the parking lot behind the YMCA, in the convention hall parking lot, the gravel lot on the south side of convention hall, and the parking lot located across from Riverside on Pharmacy on S 1st St.

🎈🆓🎡•GATES OPEN AT TBA - This isn't just a run. Glow Party! This is a free family and community oriented event. At TBA until we're ready to go home (about 10pm) they'll be a Blood Drive by Life South, live music on the Stage before and after the awards ceremony, door prizes and raffles, food and drink vendors, inflatables, a climbing wall, body and face painting (to get you ready to glow in the black lights), and more!

📝• RACE DAY REGISTRATION - TBA -  $20 for 5K & $10 for 1 Mile; you must pay, register, and sign liability waiver before participating and receiving a bib.

🚩🛤•1 MILE FUN RUN - At 6:50 PM participants should go to the start line. This run/walk will begin at 7:00 PM sharp. Runners lineup in the front; walkers line-up in the back. This course is on the TBA. Have fun! #readysetglow

🌉🔦•5K GLOW RUN - At 7:50PM, all 5K Participants should go to the start line. The 5K Glow Run will start promptly at 8:00PM. Runners line up in front; walkers line-up in back. Have fun! #readysetglow💦•AID STATIONS - Water available at 2-3 locations

🕰•TIMING - The timing will be real time and will have digital, instant results at the finish line. Your timing chip will be in your bib – so please wear your bib on your outermost clothing on the front and center of your shirt or shorts. This is your primary timing device – no bib, no time! All results will be posted on www.racekrewe.com by Race Krewe

🏁•FINISH - As you cross the finish line, please keep moving through to the end of the wide chutes. All races use the same chute. Your finish time will be displayed on the large clock positioned by the finish line. Ice cold water, fruit and finish line foods and other post-race refreshments, will be at the Post Race Glow Party. 🚦😎🌭🍧🍌🍾🎸

🚁🚔🚑•SAFETY - We advise participants and event attendees to always be aware of fellow participants, our volunteers, and public safety officials. Please follow the the course signage and the instructions from volunteers at all times. Full attention and maximum hearing are necessary in a race of this capacity. Please drink plenty of liquids before the race. If you show danger signs, officials or race personnel may remove you from the course.

Let's light up the Mort Glosser Amphitheater;  Downtown Gadsden with our glow in support for the children. Who knows? Maybe they'll be an award for the most outlandishly glowing, outrageously glowing, most ridiculously dressed (that's a good thing) runner!

About our cause, the James M. Barrie Center for Children:  The center, named after the author of “Peter Pan,” serves children through age 17 by providing forensic interviews, counseling, support and education when allegations of sexual and/or physical abuse have been made. The Barrie Center also provides educational trainings to the community, schools, churches and youth serving organizations regarding mandatory reporting laws, protecting our children and other topics focused on child abuse education and prevention. The Barrie Center mission is to provide a child friendly center for the facilitation of a multidisciplinary team response for the investigation and intervention of child sexual and/or physical abuse as well as criminal neglect in child death cases. The Barrie Center provides support and advocacy through the process of investigation, intervention and the judicial process.
