_ The 2018 Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer 5K:

Blazer Bolt is a 501c3 organization Tax Exempt # 47-4030497  whose annual event is the Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer. This race was created entirely to support those who are battling brain cancer. All proceeds will directly benefit the University of Alabama Birmingham Division of Neuro Oncology and Children's of Alabama Neuro Oncology for research of adult and pediatric brain cancer as well as patient support services. Patients, family, and friends will enjoy a flat, fast 5K course through the scenic Homewood neighborhoods in late autumn starting at 8 AM.  A 1 mile walk/fun run will begin at 9 AM.  Chip timing for instant results for the 5K will be provided by DG Racing. Overall Male & Female, Overall Master’s Male & Female and  First Male and  First Female Winner in each Age Group ( every five years from age 15 to 70+ ) will receive prizes. Over all Female and Male  5 K winners in age groups of  7-10 and 11-14 will also be awarded. No duplication of awards. This year's participants will again enjoy access to the expertise of oncologist and chef, Dr. Luis Pineda MD founder of Cooking with Cancer.
