The 6th Annual Shamrock Showdown 5K

ABOUT THE RACE: Competitive runners, new 5K participants, and walkers (and their leashed dogs) are welcome to join us as we run or walk the course of the flat, well-paved route of the Rossmoyne Business Center that is CHIP timed. The Business Center offers us 2 full free parking lots, as well as indoor restrooms and registration. It is a very safe area and easy to get in and out of.

In years past we have had a low of 200+ runners to a high of 400+ runners and the race has a good following and many come back year after year.

Some of our participants have a great time dressing in GREEN and really getting into the holiday spirit. We often have friends and family come together and take fun pics before and after.

After the race, we assemble a line of generous sampling of pizza and subs from Nikoli's Pizza. Age/sex prizes (1st and 2nd place) are awarded as well as overall male/female (1st and 2nd). Awards come in the form of Gift Certificates to use for Pizza and Super-Sized Subs. Random prizes are also given to those that are not top runners. 

LOCATION: The Rossmoyne Business Center, conveniently located off The PA Turnpike, Routes 11&15, and 581.

The race is 15 minutes from Harrisburg, 45 mins from Gettysburg, and 90 mins from Baltimore. 

AMENITIES: Participants will receive their sway in a PIZZA BOX. Included is an Army Green 5K t-shirt, chip-timed bib, and pizza cutter from Nikoli's Pizza for you to take home, and much more to come! 

ENTERTAINMENT: DJ Big John will be back as Larry the Leprechaun spinning the tunes. Everyone is welcome to wear their best GREEN Shamrock apparel and a good time is had by all!

CHARITIES: Our 2018 Charity recipient for the race is Central Penn College. A student demonstrating need will receive a scholarship while they pursue Entrepreneur Studies. Additionally, we will be supporting Salvation Army with a canned food drive. Our goal is to stuff a Nikoli's Pizza delivery car!

PACKET PICKUP: THURSDAY March 22nd from 4-7PM at Nikoli's Pizza 3904 Gettysburg Rd. Camp Hill

Please note, the packets will be kept "off site" before and after packet pick-up. Friends and family are welcome to gather packets (please communicate to one another) and if you cannot make it, you may pick up Saturday morning at 8:00a.m.

We will be serving green pizza this day at the shop!

RESULTS/AWARDS: Will immediately follow the race and will be posted online!

CHARITIES/BENEFICIARIES: Diakon Youth Services, Katie Herb Foundation, & Speranza Animal Rescue will benefit and in fact when you check out CHOOSE who YOU want to benefit from YOUR registration. They will also be on-site volunteering!
