Americas Backyard is your prescription for good health. Improving your health is as easy as a walk or a run in the parkThrow on your sneakers and join people from across the country for the 2011 5K Fun Run & Walk for Parks and Recreation. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Georgia Park and Recreation Association and go towards supporting parks and recreation in the U.S. through the National Recreation and Park Associations Americas Backyard initiative.
New in 2011 Team Competition1For the first time this year, we are including a Corporate Team Competition dont let your company miss out on the fun! Your team may be as large as you like, but must have a minimum of four members. Team members must register under the same group name so we can accurately track your team's time. The team who has four of their runners finish first will be the winner. We will also reward the team with the greatest number of participants. You don't need to be quick to win!Prizes2The top three male and female finishers of the Fun Run/Walk will receive prizes! Prizes will be awarded to the best performing team, as well as the team with the greatest number of participants.Parking and Transportation3There is a parking deckhttp://www.piedmontpark.org/visit/park_map.html. The nearest MARTA stations are Midtown and Arts Center, both located just a few blocks from the Park--http://www.piedmontpark.org/visit/directions.html.Timing4Each 5K participant will receive a race packet with a bib and chip.Race Day Registration and Packet Pick Up5Race Day registration will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. onsite. Printed registrations forms will be accepted only on the day of the race. Fee is $30. Payment is by cash or check only.
