Chinese New Year 5K/10K Run/Walk
Year of the Dog 2018
The CCHP Chinese New Year Run is an annual fundraiser benefitting Chinatown YMCAs Physical Education Program (PEP) and Community Center, which serves 1,600 youth and families in Chinatown with wellness and community programs each week.
RACE OVERVIEW AND REFUNDS: Rain or shine, THE RACE IS ON! Start time is 8:00am and will got for 1.5 hours, or until 9:30am. Runners may start lining up at 7:15am. There are no refunds for this event.
COURSE OVERVIEW: Our Course is a 5K RUN/WALK or a 10K RUN (no 10K walkers, please) and starts at 8:00AM on Grant Avenue/Sacramento Street. It finishes at 9:30am on Kearny/Sacramento Street. The course has some short hills but is mostly flat. Mile markers along the way are on the right side of the course. The 5K is one time around the course and the 10K is two loops around the course. BIB AND SHIRT PICK UP:You can pick up your Bib and T-Shirt at the Chinatown YMCA @ 855 Sacramento St during the following times:
Friday, March 2nd from 9:00am - 6:00pm
Saturday, March 3rd from 9:00am - 6:00pm
Race day, Sunday, March 4th from 7:00am - 8:00am
If you have your bib mailed to you, you will still need to pick up your T-shirt during the above times.
POST RACE: Join us at Portsmouth Square for post-event awards, refreshments, and fun for the family! We will have water and fruit avaialble, goodie bags, winner announcements, and presentation of the best dressed DOG! Visit booths from our sponsors and the Chinatown YMCA for more goodies.
RACE RESULTS: We will be using Chipped timing! You will be able to get you times right away and will email all participants the site where they can find their results.
AWARDS: Top finishers in each category (male and female for youth and adult) will receive special awards from our generous sponsors. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Dressed Dog!
PARKING: Paid parking is avaialble at Portsmouth Square Garage (Kearny St. @ Clay St.) and Sutter Stockton Garage (333 Sutter St. @ Stockton St.). Street Parking is avaialble if you arrive early, but please do not park in designated "RACE COURSE/NO PARKING" areas, block garages, or park in private lots. Meteredparking is not free on Sundays.
