We would to take the opportunity to post about an opportunity to run in a 5K this July in support of colon cancer research. Michael Brown was diagnosed with a rare type of colon cancer (signet ring colon cancer) at the age of 26. After four years in remission he was re-diagnosed in December, 2013 with stage 4 signet ring colon cancer. In hopes of creating more awareness and research about rare types of colon cancer, the Michael P. Brown Colon Cancer foundation was born. On Saturday, July 21, we will have our fifth annual 5K Run/1 mile walk in Germantown Hills, Illinois. Food will be available for purchase from 5 PM-10 PM, adult beverages will be available all night. The race will begin at 6 PM with a kids race at 5:30 PM. Awards will be given to the top men’s and women’s finishers in each age group. Each participant will get a t-shirt and free entry to the band that will be playing after the race. Our event will take place rain or shine. Please consider helping us spread the word and joining us. Register at http://www.run4michael.com. You can also find us on Facebook under Michael P. Brown Colon Cancer Foundation. For more information call us at 309-678-3545 or email us at [email protected].
