_ The 17th Annual Great West Chase:

The Great West Chase is a USATF/RRTC nationally certified, chip-timed 10K & 5K run organized by the World of Westchase to benefit a local school.

Event details and schedule

DEADLINES: Online registration closes Oct. 23 @ 9 p.m. Registration is available for walkups at packet pickup on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. & 3-8 p.m, and race day starting at 5:30 a.m.

LOCATION:  The race will be held in the heart of beautiful Westchase in Northwest Hillsborough County. Start and finish lines for the runs will be located in the West Park Village Town Center.  Visit our website at www.thegreatwestchase.com for a full map of the routes.

DIRECTIONS: From downtown Tampa (I-275) proceed north on Veterans Expressway to the Linebaugh exit. Proceed west on Linebaugh through the entrance to Westchase at the corner of Sheldon and Linebaugh. Entrances to West Park Village will exist one block east and west of Linebaugh’s intersection with Montague Street. PACKET PICKUP:  Held Thursday, October 25 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. & 3-8 p.m. at the Westchase Recreation Center located at 9791 Westchase Drive. 

RACE DAY:  Registration opens at 5:30a.m., 10k run will begin promtly at 7:00a.m., 5k run at 8:00a.m, and children's fun run at 9:00a.m.  Awards will take place after each run's results have been tallied.  

AWARDS:   Top 3 M/F Overall, Top Masters & Grand Masters M/F, and 3 deep in standard 5 year age groups awarded for the 5K & 10K.  All Challengers will receive a finisher medal. All runners are eligible to be entered into a raffle for great prizes, must be present to win.

GOODIES:  All runners will receive a quality shirt and sponsor packet.  Tech shirts available if registered by Sept. 14 for the 5K & 10K only.  Complimentary food and drink will be provided before and after the runs.

RESTRICTIONS:  Sorry! For the safety of all runners, no pets, skateboards, inline or roller skates or jogging strollers will be permitted.  Walkers with strollers are asked to participate at the rear of the event.
