SO much more than just another 5k!
Fitness! Fun! FUNDRAISING! Melissa's Race to Battle Brain Cancer is SO much more than another 5K. This event is a FUNDRAISER benefiting FLORIDA HOSPITAL CANCER INSTITUTE for brain cancer research. It's also a fun, challenging, and certified chip-timed 5K run and walk, located at Fort Mellon Park on the scenic shore of Lake Monroe in Sanford. This event is in memory of Melissa Vosburg, a resident of Sanford and teacher at Midway Elementary School, who was lost to brain cancer in 2013.

Fundraising:
520 people each day, 21 people each hour are diagnosed with a brain tumor. There is no cure for brain cancer. Only with research will that change. Our fundraising DIRECTLY benefits research, and stays LOCAL benefiting Florida Hospital.
Our goal is to raise $55,000 for brain cancer research! PLUS as an added incentive, your fundraising will enter you in a drawing for valuable prizes!
Awards:
The top adult male and female and top age group winners will be presented with awards.
AGE GROUPS:
16 & under, 17-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Medals:
All participants, live and virtual, will receive a 3 inch finishers medal.
T-Shirts:
All pre-registration participants will receive a shirt if registered by midnight April 18, 2018.
Volunteers:
Whether you just want to help or you need service hours, sign up as a volunteer.
Parking:
First St closed, use Third St to park. Parking at Chamber of Commerce lot, First St and Sanford Ave, and Seminole Blvd. Follow signs to starting line!
