Join the fun at the 2nd YLS Gordon County Color Run! This fundraiser will support the ongoing philanthropic efforts the United Way of Gordon County's Young Leaders Society provides to the community. YLS Members participate in volunteer opportunities like serving meals at the Voluntary Action Center's Community Kitchen, collecting art supplies for art therapy sessions at Prevent Child Abuse Gordon County, hosting a Trunk or Treat for Boys & Girls Club Members and many more activities! Two Start Times for Runners & Walkers:
9:00 A.M. - 5K Run & 9:10 A.M. - 1 Mile Fun Run
We will have two runs, a 1 Mile Fun Run as well as a regular 5K (neither event will be timed). Spend your St. Patrick's Day running through clouds of color! We hope to make the Color Run a lasting event for Calhoun and the surrounding areas. On behalf of our members, thank you for your support of this growing event!

FAQ’s:

• What is a Color Run anyways? A fun way to exercise, the Color Run is as exciting as it is colorful. Complete the 1 Mile Fun Run or the 5K and run through clouds of bright neon colors. The white t-shirt you wear is a cool keepsake of the experience you had!

• Is the event timed? No, it is not. This is a fun event; run, walk, crawl, or tumble! We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finish time.

• Are animals allowed? Yes but, please be aware the color is safe and non-toxic!
• Can children participate? Yes! All ages are welcome.
• What do I get in my race bag? Each registered runner will receive a white t-shirt to wear for the race, one colorful lei, one pair of neon sunglasses, & even more goodies! (Plus one packet of color powder for the color bomb party *see Q: 8*)
• Can I pick up my race bag in advance? Yes! Pickup is available Friday, March 16th from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Historic Calhoun Depot located at 109 King St. S. Calhoun, GA 30701.
• Can someone else pick up my race bag? Yes, but you must send them with a copy or screenshot of your registration form!
• Can I register the day of? Yes, beginning at 8:00 a.m. race day registration begins, a flat fee of $35 is charged only on race day.
• Color Bomb Party: After each runner crosses the finish line, they will receive one packet of 4 oz. colored powder for the color bomb party! The color bomb party begins at 9:50 a.m. Don’t miss the picture!
• WAIT, What is a Color Bomb Party?! Imagine making a mess and not having to clean it up BUT with colored powder! A huge cloud of blues, purples, yellows, greens, and pinks will cover you are the end of the race. Kicked off with fun music and a countdown to “throw your color” at the end!
• Is this safe?? The color powder used at this event is all certified non-toxic and free of heavy metals. The colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C dyes. Runners may choose to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouth.
• Does the color really ruin my clothes and running shoes? Most of the color does wash out after the event, however, we recommend you wash the clothing items sooner rather than later. Wear older items you don’t mind getting a little dirty! We also recommend bringing towels to use for the inside of your vehicles and a change of clothes.
• Directions to the Calhoun Recreation Department: Use 10 McDaniel Station Rd. SW, Calhoun, GA 30701 on your GPS then follow the signs to the big parking lot to park!
