Meet the Kids Behind the Race

The Huntsville Inner City Learning Center (HICLC) is home to an after-school program for a pretty incredible group of K-7th grade kids. Many of them come from tough backgrounds, and many of them have some hard stories to hear. But the HICLC provides them with a place to exercise their minds and their bodies through physical activities, Biblical studies, fellowship, a hot meal, and tutoring. 

Give What Back?

The HICLC kids have been given much through their participation, but have also learned to give to others in the world with even greater needs. Each year, they choose a charity for their donation, earning money through an annual 5K event. 

So Why Participate?

Whether you’re an avid runner, an occasional race participant, or a complete newbie, you are invited to join us on May 12, 2018. Let's support the students of the HICLC as they break away from a culture of dependence and show the world that GREAT things can happen in their neighborhood. Join a great cause and  Give it Back! 

Event details and schedule

Online registration will close on May 9, 2018 at 12:00 pm. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!  However, there will be an opportunity to register on May 11, 2018 at Fleet Feet Sports during packet pick up.  Registration by April 22, 201 guarantees Tshirt size. 

Fleet Feet will host the packet pick up on Friday, May 11 from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

This is a certified 5K course.  The race begins at 8:00 am behind the new Campus No. 805 (2610 Clinton Ave) and heads toward downtown Huntsville on Holmes Street.  Then returns on Clinton and winds through Butler Terrace housing project.   The race ends at the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center, 2450 Brahan Avenue.

Parking space is provided by Campus No. 805 (2610 Clinton Ave).  Please avoid entering Hall Street from Triana as runners may be lining up to start.  You may enter Hall street from Lowry Street or Cemetery Street.

Music, snacks, and awards will be provided in the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center courtyard.   Shuttle rides back to the parking area will be provided every 15 minutes beginning at 8:45.
