The 4th Annual RUN FOR THEIR LIVES 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile Fun Run is Saturday, March 31, 2018! The race benefits both Open Hands Overflowing Hearts (OHOH) and the Elaine Roberts Foundation (ERF). OHOH was founded in 2014 by Kayla Funk of Hoover in response to her diagnosis of Neuroblastoma. The Elaine Roberts Foundation was founded by Laura Roberts in 2016 in memory of her daughter, Elaine, who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. OHOH and ERF are 501c3 non-profits who share a mission to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research, find a cure and bring an end to childhood cancer.
Whether you choose to run or walk the 10K, 5K or 1-Mile Fun Run, there will be honored guests along the route to encourage you, friendly volunteers to guide you, water and Powerade along the route, and wonderful refreshments at the end! Awards will be given to top 3 race times overall, then by age group and gender. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered by midnight on March 15th. Come join us for what we hope becomes your favorite race event of the year and help us raise money for pediatric cancer research!
New this year we invite you to participate in the Beads of Courage Carry a Bead Program to encourage a child coping with cancer at Children's of Alabama. For $10, you receive a matched bead set. One bead you keep and the other you carry and return with a signed note of encouragement. Your shared story becomes a source of shared strength for a child. Give hope. Honor Courage. Carry a Bead. (You may purchase the Beads of Courage during registration.)
** Online registration will end at midnight on March 28th. You can register at packet pick-up on March 30th or on-site the day of the race. Race Day registration begins at 6 am and ends promptly at 7:30 am. If you are planning to register on-site, please be there early to avoid long lines.
