_ The 2018 Owens House Superhero 5K:

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Last year, Owens House provided specialized forensic interviews for 366 children.  Almost 2000 trauma-informed counseling sessions were provided along with family advocacy and support.  Safety programs were provided to over 8000 children in Shelby County Schools.  You can be a Superhero and help Shelby County kids who have exerienced abuse by participating in our 4th Annual Superhero event!  Come walk, run, play & enjoy our family day.  Wear your capes or crowns and meet us at Pavillion 7 for the 5K and Prevention Parade.  Awards and FREE Family Fun Fest to follow.  Stick around for a cupcake walk, face painting, crafts, games, and obstacle course.  Bring a lil' moolah for Lazy Boy BBQ and Kona Ice.  Visit the vendor booths and don't leave without some safety info from community partners.
