Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, 85% of these women have no family history of the disease, and 1 in 1,000 men have a lifetime risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer? You can help The Pink Ladies raise awareness and money to fight this terrible disease by participating in the 4th Annual Saving the Bounce 5k race. The race will be held on August 4, 2018 on The Silver Comet Trail starting at the Homer Leggett Trailhead in Hiram, GA. This flat and fast course is now USATF certified, certificate pending, so this is your chance to run for a great cause and race for a PR. The course is perfect for all fitness levels and walkers are welcome. The Silver Comet Trail will not be closed for this event so please remember to watch for other trail runners and bikers.
The race will start at 8:00 a.m. and will be held rain or shine. Awards have been expanded this year to include overall Male and Female finishers, overall Male and Female Master finishers and top three Male and Female finishers in each of the following age groups: <10 year, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
Plenty of free parking is available at or near Homer Leggett Trailhead. Please watch for parking volunteers who will direct you to a parking space. Restrooms are available at Homer Leggett Park adjacent to the Trailhead.
