_ The 2nd Annual Fort Hamer Bridge 5K/10K Run:

Join us for the 2nd Annual Fort Hamer Bridge 5K/10K. Race event commences at 7:30 am sharp by the Fort Hamer Rowing Facility and goes over Fort Hamer Bridge to the south side and then turns back into the beautiful The Islands of the Manatee River Subdivision. There will be chip timing by Lakeshore Athletic Service providers to the Chicago Marathon, colorful safety yellow moisture wicking Leslie Jordan shirts. Special crafted awards to winners and categories three deep from 9 & under to 80+. Great after party with adult beverages with proper I.D. All 5K/10K finishers receive signature Ft Hamer Bridge medal neck/key chain medals crafted by Ashworth medals providers for the Boston Marathon. (you definitely want this commemorative momento)

Plenty of water stops are planned to keep you hydrated. 

The children participating in all races will be treated to a special Kid's Zone with face painter, bounce houses, and special buffet all provided by the Manatee County YMCA.

After race festivities include Under River actiivities:

Manatee County Youth Rowing will be hosting an open house and will have coaches, athletes and parents available for questions about fall, spring and summer programs. Athletes will give tours of the boathouse. Boats will be set up so that race participants can see the boats up close and learn the basics of the boats. ERG's (rowing machines) will be set up for simulating rowing experience. So enjoy an adventure with Manatee River Kayak and Paddleboard operated out of Fort Hamer Park in Parrish. Kayaks and paddleboards can be rented to enjoy the beauty of the Manatee River while supporting a great local sports organization - Manatee County Youth Rowing (MCYR)

Early packet pick-up and registration commences at the Parrish YMCA Saturday 8/18 9:00 am to 5:00 pm then at Fit2Run UTC Mall next to Dillard's Sunday 8/19 to Thursday 8/23 store hours. Race day 8/25 at 6:00 am

• 6:45 am 3-4 yrs run 100 meters
• 6:47 am 5-6 yrs run 200 meters
• 6:49 am 7-9 yrs run 400 meters
• 6:55 am 10-12 yrs run 800 meters
• Note: Kid's registered for the 5K/10K can run the River Dashes for free! All children receive a finishers medal and chance to win an engraved trophy Boy/Girl three deep all ages

• 9:00 am Ribbon Cutting Bridge opening
