_ The 2018 Fiesta 5K Olé:
Get out your best sombrero, zapatos, and mark your calendars for Saturday, May 5th, 2018, for Visalia Emergency Aid’s 1st Annual “Fiesta 5K Ole” Fun Run/Walk. Join the festivities and celebrate with us as we take you on a 5K run/walk around Downtown Visalia to support the Visalia Emergency Aid Food Pantry. The race starts at Garden & Center located next to the Bank of America Main St. parking Lot and ends at the corner of Garden & Oak where you can enjoy your beverage and tacos at the Tulare-Kings Hispanic Chamber’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration located in the Old Visalia Lumber Yard.
FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!
The race will fund your local food pantry where over 1,000 families receive supplemental groceries each month. Our firm belief that no child should go to bed hungry and no parent should have to choose between paying the rent or feeding the family fuels our passion to keep the pantry shelves stocked for our most vulnerable citizens, our children. The unfortunate reality is Tulare County is one of the most productive agricultural counties in the nation yet 23% of its residents live at or below federal poverty levels. In addition, families with income just above poverty levels also struggle to stretch income to pay the rent, purchase gas for work, and feed the family. These are the households Visalia Emergency Aid Food Pantry serves on a daily basis. Together, we can fight hunger!
