_ The 2018 22 Too Many 5K:

Come join RUN YOUR RACE for a family friendly 5k Run/Walk and help support 22 Too Many! You will experience a small town feel at our professionally run events, with just enough competition to make it fun and exciting!

Why? Approximately 22 veterans a day take their own lives, a report released in 2012 by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) shows. There are a number of reasons for this startling statistic, among them: post-traumatic stress (PTS), the effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI), and the negative stigma in the military community around seeking help

Veterans are not the only suffering. The families are left suffering from complicated grief long after the loss of a loved one. Learn how you can connect and help more.

How: Print out and carry the pictures our fallen heroes to honor their memory and raise awareness of military PTS. To find, download and print a picture of a hero to honor, please click on one of the gallery links below:

Benefits: 22 Too Many is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that cares deeply and passionately about our nations veterans and their families. Through athletic events, we seek to serve as a living memorial, reduce the stigma by increasing public knowledge and awareness of PTS, share helpful resources, and provide support and comfort to the grieving families left behind. Our goal is to see 22 reduced to 0.

Cost: $25 (early registration until 6/4), includes a beautiful finisher medal, matching lapel pin, wristband and other goodies along with age group awards in 14 categories! Optional event T-shirts are available at $15 each. Shirt pre-order ends 6/4!

No packet pickup is necessary! Check in starts at 5:30 am on Saturday, June 16th at the back of Mesa Riverview Park near the Rio Salado Bike Pathway entrance. The park is located at 2100 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ 85201. Please follow the GPS maps posted on AZVR.orgto find the start.The 5K race is scheduled to start at 7:00 am, so please arrive early! We will provide you with a bib when you arrive, and the race is chip timed with age group awards. Your finisher medal will be awarded after the run and water and snacks are also provided.

Can’t make the date? Choose the “On Your Own” option to join us from your location and earn your medal. You may walk/run/ruck/exercise or any activity you like! You get motivation to stay active and the charity will benefit from your support! Your race packet will be mailed right to your door! You have until June 30th to complete your race.

There is no pre-race packet pickup. Check in begins at 5:30 am at the Mesa Riverview Park, near the Rio Salado Pathway entrance. Plan to stick around for the raffle after and we will try to conclude the event by 9 am. Please bring a water bottle to stay well hydrated!
