_ The 2018 ERS Championships and The Last 5k:

How to qualify for the Championship:

There is an open event (the last 5k and Kids 1 mile) and then there is the Championships. ERS Championship will start with everyone else at 9am. This is an invitation only competition open to runners who have scored over 100 points during the 2018 ERS Race Series or have run a sub 20 min 5k (mens) or sub 23 min 5k (females) in an ERS hosted event.

Our champions will race in a ladder style workout with 5 consecutive distances with increasing speed. Everyone will run a 5k but you must be back at the start line within 30 mins to start the 2 mile race. You must finish the 2 miles in 16 mins and be ready to start the 1 mile when the clock hits 46mins. If you are still standing and finished by 53 your into the speed rounds where you must finish the 800 in under 3 mins ready to start the final 400 when the clock hits 56. First to finish the 400 wins. 

Schedule:

1. 5k starts at 9:00am - Clock time 0
2. 2 Mile starts at 9:30 - clock time 30min
3. 1 Mile starts at 9:46 - clock time 46mins
4. 800 meters starts at 9:53 - clock time 53mins
5. 400 meter finally starts at 9:56 and the first to finish wins.

The Last 5k:

This is a family friendly 5k which will start at 9:am. It is open to all and is a super simple out and back course along the race track. At the finish line we will have hot coffee, hot chocolate, fruit and nice fire to hang out around while the champions entertain us with their beastly workout. We will do a kids 1 mile run before the 5k and every child will earn their own holiday treat.

• $35 after the close of online registration and on race day

The Course for both events will start and finish inside the park area on Hutchinson island. Park in the Pit and Paddox area in the race track (not the westin or trade center). Packet Pickup will be on friday. Location to be determined. Shirt included for the 5k and Finisher Medal included for everyone.
