_ The 2018 Run & Walk for Prostate Cancer Awareness:

Welcome to the 8th Annual Run and Walk for Prostate Cancer Awareness.  This charity event is a 5K run and 3K walk on Sunday, September 9th, 2018. Registration opens at Chicago Prostate Cancer Center, 815 Pasquinelli Drive in Westmont at 7 am and race start is 8 am.  The event is hosted by the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago and Chicago Prostate Cancer Center.  

We are excited for this event and to see former patients and those interested in working together to promote prostate cancer awareness! Come meet special host, NBC5 news anchor, Dick Johnson and listen to live music from local cover band Blue Sky Blind band!  Our event consists of a 5K run and 3K walk beginning and ending at Chicago Prostate Cancer Center. All registered participants in the 5K are timed, and the three fastest runners for each age group male/female are recognized with a medal or a ribbon. First place winners in each age division also win a prize! This is a fun event for people of all ages. Don't be surprised if you see a child passing the finish line next to their 85 your old grandparent!  All registered participants also have the chance to win one of many gifts. There will also be raffles, auctions, face painting, and more! Don’t miss this day of celebration while we raise funds to educate and provide support for prostate cancer! 

About our CharityProstate Cancer Foundation of Chicago is a 501(c) (3), nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting prostate cancer awareness, early detection and funding patient support programs such as free prostate cancer screenings and prostate cancer informational support groups.  The Foundation is committed to providing public and professional education, research analysis, and publishing studies based on their extensive database consisting of outcomes of over ten thousand prostate cancer patients.  

About Prostate Cancer: Second to skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men; approximately 300,000 men in the United States are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. The exact cause of prostate cancer is unknown. According to the American Cancer Society, an average American man has a one in seven chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.

About Chicago Prostate Cancer Center (CPCC): was established in 1997 to provide patients with compassion, quality treatment, and expert opinions. They have consulted over 20,000 prostate cancer patients, and they pride themselves on providing patients ethical and unbiased medical options.   CPCC works hand-in-hand with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago to encourage prostate cancer awareness and prevention, patient peer-support, education and clinical research.

Pricing:  If registered by August 22nd: Adult $30, Child (6-17) $15.     If registered after August 22nd:  Adult $35, Child (6-17) $20.
