Description
2011 Mt. Sneffels Marathon & Half-Marathon:
The half marathon has been a big hit the past 10 years and everyone has loved the course. This is the first year to add the Marathon event. This is also the first year to add a Walker category which gives those that sign up to walk the half marathon the option to start from Ouray at 6:30am. Please note that those signed up as walkers will not have an official time. A one mile kids fun run will be in Ridgway near the finish line of the main race on Saturday 8/13 at 11:00am.Prizes and refreshments in Ridgway after the race. Age and gender divisions. Half Marathon:
the 13.1 mile course begins at Ouray Hot Springs Park, winds through the city of Ouray and follows the Uncompahgre River Valley down to Ridgway.
The elevation of Ouray is 7700 ft. and the elevation of Ridgway is 7000 ft.
This downhill course is primarily on a dirt county road. It's a beautiful route.
UST&F certified course.
Marathon: Same course as half marathon except start in Ridgway, run to Ouray and round-robin.
