Event Features1A fun and furious 3-mile course featuring obstacles
used only by Marine Recruits. Get "encouragement" along the way at each
obstacle by MCRD Drill Instructors. Compete as an individual or a
3-person or 5-person team.
Great post-race party with plenty of music, food, drinks and beer,
awards to the top 3 finishers in each category/age group, official race

Race starts at 9:00 a.m. you will be going off in 5-minute waves,
starting with the individual elite men & women, then individual men,
individual women, then 3-person teams, then 5-person teams. Day of race
registration & t-shirt pick-up opens at 6:30 a.m.The course33-mile
obstacle course on paved roads and hard-packed dirt flat and fast.
Over 50 obstacles to complete, including hay jumps, tunnel crawls, fox
holes & trenches, cargo netting, and push up stations. Drill
instructions at each station to make sure youve completed your
obstacles.

division starts in 1st wave4Females running under 9 minute miles and
males under 8 minute miles qualify for the elite category. While we are
not looking for any written qualifications, we ask that abide by this
time qualification if you intend to race in the elite category.
Awards
for the elite category will be given to the top 3 males and top 3
females overall. If you choose the elite category, you will not be
ranked/awarded in your age group - just ranked in the elite
category.Packets5Register by September 3rd to receive your race packet
by mail! All packets will be mailed starting September 9th. Includes
your race numbers and course information. Note: Team captains will be
mailed all bibs and info for the entire team if all members sign the
waiver by September 3rd. Otherwise, a waiver will be sent to the captain
for all members to sign.Team Captains6Upon completion of your
registration, you must have each team member agree to the
event waiver to receive your race numbers by mail. Team waiver closes on September 3rd.
Have your team members do this ASAP!Special Team Instructions7Team
captains are responsible for: making sure all team members sign a
waiver, handing out the race numbers for your team, finding your team
members on race morning, and making any substitutions necessary for the
team. Please make sure you want to be a team captain before you

member, have the new team member sign the
event waiver.
THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO SUBSTITUTE A MEMBER.Rules9Individuals
welcome, teams must consist of 3 or 5 members. All team members must
cross the finish line together to qualify for awards.

Sorry, no baby strollers, or children under the age of 15 allowed on the course.
Your race entry is non-refundable, non-transferable. Event is held rain
or shine.Please arrive early on race day10There are 3,000 entrants and
thousands of spectators coming onto the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on
race morning. Our expo and t-shirt pickup opens at 6:30am. Follow signs
from the gate to parking. Please have a valid driver's license, current
vehicle registration and insurance when entering the base. Start line is
on the corner of Henderson and Seminole.

INDIVIDUALS: YOU WILL BE ENTERING GATE #5 OF MCRD. Take I-5 to the Washington St. exit. Head west to Gate #5.
TEAMS: YOU WILL BE ENTERING GATE #1 OF MCRD.
From the north, take I-5 South to CA 209-S/El Camino de Rio W towards
Rosecrans St and continue on Rosecrans. From the south, take I-5 North
to Pacific Hwy exit continue for 2.4 miles to Rosecrans and turn left.
For both: continue on Rosecrans until Lytton St. turn left. Gate #1
