The Bissell Ferry 5k and 10K Annual Scholarship Road Races - Saturday Sept 29, 2018 @ 9am

Start and Finish at the Board of Education Building at 1737 Main St - S Windsor, CT

Day of race registration available from 7:30 to 8:45 am ....at 1737 Main St

All Proceeds going to benefit the Hartford Evergreen #88 Scholarship Fund
Cost:

Runners $25.00 (race bib with timer included)

Walkers $25.00

All participants receive a finisher’s medal

Awards given to top three finishers in each age group

All participants with a race number are entered into random drawing for 4 tickets to a New York Yankee upcoming game

Trivia:

Bissell Ferry connected South Windsor (east of the Connecticut River) to Windsor on the western bank.

After English settlement, homesteaders west of the river relied on John Bissell’s ferry to reach pasturelands on the east side in South Windsor.

The Bissell ferry operated from about 1633 to 1925.
