Norfolk Land Trust 5k and 10k-Trail Race ~ Results ::

• 5K Trail Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

The Norfolk Land Trust will host its 5K- and 10K-trail race Sunday, Sept. 23, with the start and finish for both races at the Barbour Woods trailhead at 75 Lovers Lane. The 10K race kicks off at noon. Runners will follow the classic 5K route for a mile and then branch off toward Haystack Mountain. Runners will ascend the mountain, loop around the tower and then descend to the park’s main entrance to finish the run through Barbour Woods.

The classic 5K, which starts at 12:15, features a mixture of single and double track through historic Barbour Woods. Pre-registration is $20 and is available at www.ultrasignup.com or at https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=57080. Registration is $25 the day of the race. Registration will be capped at 100 runners for each race. A post-race awards party will be at Infinity Hall Bistro and all runners will receive a Big Elm Brewing beer glass and a cup of chili.

The 10K race has been named the USATF-CT Mountain, Ultra Trail Championship. USATF-CT is offering a prize purse for the top USATF-CT teams that compete in the series.

The 10K runners will follow the classic 5K route for a mile in Barbour Woods and then branch off toward Haystack Mountain. Runners will ascend the mountain, loop around the tower and then descend to the park’s main entrance to finish the run through Barbour Woods.
