Pumpkin Fest is a community pumpkin festival, celebrating its 6th anniversary in 2017, that provides a safe and fun family event that also benefits such community organizations as the Big Lake Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee and the Big Lake Community Food Shelf. Pumpkin Fest includes pumpkin themed activities as pumpkin carving, a pumpkin pie eating contest, horse-drawn rides, a chili cook-off, and much more. The Pumpkin Fest 5K provides yet another opportunity to involve more members of the community with a fun, pumpkin themed 5K that encourages and awards different age groups for fastest finish and best themed costume.
