The 12th Annual Smuttynose Rockfest is returning to Hampton Beach, NH on Sunday, October 6, 2019 for another day of rocking and running! Join thousands of runners and spectators at New England’s fastest, flattest, and most scenic road race.
After the finish, head on over to the famous Sea Shell Stage where the Rockfest after-party awaits! 5k runners experience the same great food, band, and beer garden (they just get the party started a little earlier)!
You've never seen a party like this at a road race! The Smuttynose Rockfest Half and 5k features a massive festival that's free to the public. Over 10,000 people descend on this scenic beach town to cheer on the runners and party all day! So bring your friends and family and get ready for a day of fun at one of New Hampshire's biggest festivals!
NEW this year. Take your pick of two awesome Live Bands! Inside the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom with a live cover band. Outside on the Sea Shell Stage - Get your dance moves ready for New England's favorite ultimate Disco tribute band, Motor Booty Affair, who'll be rocking the Sea Shell stage!
We know you'll be hungry after you run, so all runners get treated to a smorgasbord of food, including lobstah rolls, clam chowdah, Stonyfield yogurt, Granola Bars, and vegetarian options. Oh, did we mention you also get two Smuttynose craft beers? The best part? It's all included with the cost of your registration!
HOW IT WORKS: Each runner gets food and beer (for those 21+) with their registration. Spectators can also get food+beer tickets online for just $22 and enjoy the same perks as the runners! All food is served in the Food Tent in the festival area until 1 pm. Runners can enter with their bib and spectators can enter with their F+B ticket.
Beer is served in the Beer Garden and The HAMPTON BEACH CASINO as well as at two local bars next to the festival. For the local bars, runners will have two beer tickets attached to their bib while spectator F+B tickets will also include two beer tickets. These can be redeemed for two draft Smuttynose beers until 1 p.m. at the following bars: Boardwalk Cafe, Sea Ketch and the Hampton Beach Casino.
Half Marathon:
• The course begins with two thrilling loops around downtown Hampton Beach with thousands of spectators cheering you on. It then heads north on Ocean Boulevard right along the beach and then turns inland for a loop on tree-lined roads before coming back out to the ocean at Mile 10.
• The race finishes with a three-mile stretch along the beach, ending at the famous Sea Shell Stage for a well-deserved party!
5k:
• The course is comprised of the first 3.1 miles of the half marathon course.

Both the 5k and the half marathon start at the corner of B Street and Ashworth Avenue. There are three ways to get into Hampton Beach. The usual way is to come in on 101 East directly to the beach, but this event draws over 10,000 runners and spectators so if everyone uses 101 we’ll have a 5-mile backup!
To make this a smooth event for everyone, we ask runners to be prepared to arrive on race-day at 6- 6:30 a.m.. For more options to get into Hampton, please use one of these alternate routes:
Parking can be difficult on race morning, so if you see an open spot, TAKE IT! There are multiple parking options: (A) You can park in paid lots off Ashworth Avenue for $5 – $10. (B) You can park on the street at a meter and pay with coins or card at the automated machine. (C) You can park in any of the State Park lots and pay by credit card.
