_ The 2019 Veterans Day Cross Country 4 Kilometer Run:

Veterans Day 4K XC Race

The Northport Running Club and the Northport American Legion present the 40th Annual Veterans Day 4K Cross Country Race.  Held each year on the weekend near Veterans Day, the race is run on the grounds of the VAMC Hospital in Northport, NY.

Race Course:
The race course is 4K (2.48 Miles) run entirely on the Northport VAMC / American Legion Post 694 golf course. The course is scenic and spectator-friendly.  NOTE: Absolutely no pets or baby joggers allowed on the course!

Registration fees:

4k Cross Country Run

12 and Under          $15.00 - $25.00 after October     13 and older    $20.00 - $25.00 after October 

 Military Service  (Current/Prior)       $15.00 - $25.00 after October 

Healthy People 0.5K Fun Run/Walk            $5.00 Donation

Packet/Number Pick-up: Packet pickup and late registration will be available at Super Runners Shop, 355 New York Ave, Huntington (631) 549-3006 on Friday Nov. 1 from 6:30p – 8:00p. Registration & packet pickup also available 8:00a – 9:30a race day at the VA Medical Center Auditorium (Building 5). 

Post Race Festivities:

Hot chocolate, clam chowder and bagels are served in Bldg 5, followed by the award ceremony and raffle (Featuring Super Runners Shop gift cards). Napper Tandy's invites all eligible entrants to present their race number at their 229 Laurel Avenue, Northport location for a complimentary beverage after the race.

Individual Awards:
Cash Awards to the top 3 male and female overall ($100, $50, $25); top 3 male and female masters ($100, $50, $25); and top veteran ($100).

Age-group awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female in the following categories: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-75, 80-84, 85 & Over.
There will be no duplication of awards.

HEALTHY PEOPLE RUN/WALK:
A 0.5K (0.3 mile) fun run/walk will be held entirely on the golf course, starting at 9:30am. Entry fee is a $5 donation and an authentic dog tag award will be presented to all finishers.

Photos will be taken of as many runners as possible. You can also ask Ed (of LIRP) to take any pre or post-race photos of you and your friends. Preserve those race memories!
