_ The 2019 Great Pumpkin Race:

The Great Pumpkin Race is set for Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Buckelew Farm just west of Tucson. NOTE - The Family Mile race starts AT 8:30am and the 5K begings at 9:00am. This cross-country style 5K races though the Buckelew family farm and both the 5K and the Family Mile include portions of the wild and crazy corn maze.  In addition to free entry into the farm, participants will also be eligible for great prizes, race day activities like pumpkin carving and kid’s face painting.  The Great Pumpkin race benefits The Arizona Center for Autism.  This is definitely one race you won’t be ‘scared’ to enter!

Event details and schedule

Thanks to the Buckelew family, the entry fee into Buckelew Farms is waived so that you may purchase your own pumpkin.  All those that are in the park by race time (9:00 a.m.) will not be charged for entry.  Those arriving after after 8:00 a.m. will need to pay the entry fee.  So it’s simple, arrive early, run a great race (or cheer your favorite racer), have a great time, enjoy crafts and other activities for the entire family!

Race Awards

We’re excited to offer prizes in multiple age groups making this race a truly family-friendly event.  Thanks to The Running Shop for providing prizes.
Age groups will be 11 and under, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Top three overall and Master’s winner will be taken out of age group awards. All participants are eligible for raffle prizes.

Due to safety concerns, Buckelew Farms has a no dog policy this year.  Please leave Fido at home for the race, we’re sure he’d much rather sleep in than run through the haunted corn maze anyway!

This is a cross country style race though farm fields and uneven terrain.  Baby joggers are allowed, but please be aware that some parts of the race may take extra time to navigate while you’re little one is enjoying the view!
