If you haven’t realized this is more than a Canine friendly event..... it’s FOR them!!
If you are new to Canicross, like most folks in this area are..... its simply a trail/running event that you and your companion run together. The basic rules are simple also... you start and finish the race, constantly tethered to your canine at all times. No restrictions on that being hand held, waist strapped ,or a true Canicross harness. Beware you may run your fastest mile ever !! 😂
We do ask you and your Canine be on your best behavior. Which includes, but not limited to:
1. Be sure your canine is physically able to run the course, along with yourself.
2. Be sure to police potty breaks along the course and festival area as responsible owners do.
3. Aggressive behavior by you or your canine will result in one of our race directors asking you to leave the area .... which we do NOT want to happen. But for the safety of all participants, we will dismiss you from the event site.
4. Keep yourself and canine hydrated as needed. We will provide water stations for the canines and our humans.
5. Spring in Alabama is always a mystery when guessing weather conditions, so be prepared for everything and we will watch for severe conditions if they arise and the race will be delayed or canceled as needed for everyone’s safety.

Special note: we do allow humans to run this event without a canine partner in support of the charities, however they will not be considered for awards because ... well this is a canine event.

Cost: 39.00 for both 5k and 10k and solo humans.
