About Our Race
The Explorer program provides a means through which young men and women, ages fourteen to eighteen, may determine, through actual experience and training, if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. The program provides young people the opportunity for positive community involvement, and fosters a greater sense of understanding between the community and the Police Department.
Funds raised over and above the operation costs of the Run/Walk would be used to pay for uniforms, equipment, trips, regional competitions, and supplies for the Explorers. Sponsors will be acknowledged on the brochures and materials distributed to publicize the Run/Walk, and will be recognized at the event itself.
The North Creek Explorer 5K (now in its third year) is an annual event, held at a unique time of year and a unique time of day. Starting and ending at the beautiful campus of the North Creek Presbyterian Church, participants will run or walk beside the Helene Klein Pineland Preserve and enjoy the special character of the north end of the city of Coconut Creek.
