_ The 2019 Legacy 5K:

Join us for the Legacy 5K on Saturday, May 25th at 9:30AM. The Legacy 5K is a family-friendly, run/walk event through the beautiful Georgetown & Edgewood neighborhoods of Burlington, NC, hosted by Triad School of Ministry. The race will be officially timed by Cardinal Race Services at an accurate 5K distance. Bring the whole family for the perfect kickoff to summer 2019! Check-in and walk-up registration will open at 8:00AM and the race will begin at 9:30AM. The Legacy 5K will start in the back parking lot of Trinity Worship Center. You may park anywhere else on the church campus.

After the race is completed, we invite you to stay for FREE food, giveaways, door prizes, games, inflatables, kids fun run, and other family activities. Medals will be awarded to the Adult (ages 13-49), Kids (12 & under), and Legacy (50+) age groups with Male & Female categories in each.

All proceeds of the Legacy 5K go to building future students and leaders through Triad School of Ministry. Southeastern University (Lakeland, FL) has partnered with our church (Trinity Worship Center) to offer students in the Triad affordable, accredited degree programs while gaining valuable hands on-experience and character development through our internship tracks. We are committed to raising up the next generation of young people to make a difference in our city. We believe the future is bright, and we want you to partner with us as we train these students and leaders.

$35 per runner, *FREE for kids 12 & under. FREE T-Shirt with registration! 

*IMPORTANT - if your child (12 & Under) wants to have official results, please sign them up under the paid 5K Registration category.

RACE INFO:

LOCATION & PARKING
The start / finish line is at Trinity Worship Center at 3157 S. Church St. Burlington, NC 27215. Please park in the church parking lot or the grass lot by Fieldstone Dr. The event will start at the back of the building by the Office Entrance.

CHECK-IN & WALK-UP REGISTRATION
Check-in & walk-up registration will begin at 8:00AM & end at 9:00AM. If you have already registered for the race, you will pickup your packet and your official bib at this time. Please arrive within this time window so we can start the race on time. For walk-up registration, we will have kiosks available to accept card, check, or cash at this time. Walk-up registration will close firmly at 9:00AM so that we can start the race on time.

T-SHIRTS
If you register for The Legacy 5K before May 3rd, we will have your t-shirt ready at check-in. If you register after May 3rd, you will still receive your shirt, but just 2 weeks after the race. We realize this isn't a perfect system, but we want to make sure we get exact sizes and not leave anyone with shirts that don't fit. Thank you for your understanding!

KIDS & FAMILIES
If you are bringing your kids to the Legacy 5K, please note that you are responsible for their supervision on campus. We will have volunteers for the inflatables and food vendors, but not a fully-staffed kid's team. Your kids are welcome to run the course with you or stay with a family member by the start / finish line to cheer you on.

VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for volunteers for race day. If you have friends or family members who would like to help, please email [email protected].

ROUTE
The race will begin at Fieldstone Dr. entrance of Trinity Worship Center and move along neighborhood streets behind the campus. There will be signage and arrows throughout to help guide you. There will also be a table midway through the race with water cups. We will have police officers available to lead the way & help manage traffic. EMT's will also be available in case of emergency.

AFTERPARTY & AWARDS CEREMONY
Once the race is finished, we will begin serving lunch at 10AM. The Kids Fun Run will begin in the gymnasium at this time. Door prizes, giveaways, and the awards ceremony will begin around 11AM.
