AES/PTO Fundraiser1AES and the PTO are hosting the 2nd Annual RUN For FUNds. Bring in the new school year with this family friendly event, all the while enjoying views of Pyramid Peak!Pre-Registration Fees2Pre-Registration Fees (closes on September 17 at 4pm) for 5 K Run and/or 1 Mile Walk: Child/Student: $15 Adult: $25 Family: $50 (2 adults and up to 3 children)Race-Day Registration/Bib Pick-Up Times35 K Running Race: Registration/bib pick-up from 8 - 9:30, 10am Start *** 1 Mile Family Walk: Registration/bib pick-up from 8 - 10:30, 11am StartRace-Day Registration Fees4Race-Day Registration Fees Child/Student: $25 Adult: $35 Family: $60 (2 adults and up to 3 children)Race Fees Include5Race fees include entry into the 5 K Run AND/OR the 1 Mile Walk. Warm up with the 5 K, and then join the family for a cool-down walk! Entry includes the 5 K aid-station, a great raffle, and post-race refreshments!Post-Race BBQ6For a small fee there will be a Post-Race BBQ - Join us for lunch!5 K Running Race Description7The 5 K Running Race is a timed event (manual method) that will be held on a fun course of single-track trails, bike paths, ball fields, sidewalks and pavement that surround the Aspen School District campus. The race will begin and end at the Lower Moore Ball Field. One mid-race aid station will be provided. Please, no baby-joggers in the 5 K event. Course Map1 Mile Family Walk Description8The 1 Mile Family Walk will also begin and end at the Lower Moore Ball Field, making a loop on a gradual route of sidewalks, pavement, bike paths and includes a segment of ball field grass/gravel. While backpacks for carrying younger participants are preferred, baby-joggers are allowed.No Dogs Allowed!9Due to the large number of small children attending this event, and school district policy, please leave your furry friends at home.Parking10Please park in the Aspen Middle School or the Aspen High School lots. If possible, please ride your bike, carpool or take the bus!Bus Service11RFTAs Castle/Maroon bus departs from Rubey Park on Sunday, September 18 every 20 minutes starting at 9:00am (:00 :20 and :40 past each hour). Another Castle/Maroon bus departs from Highlands at the same times for participants wanting to return from the bus stop under the ARC bridge to Aspen.Race Results12Results will be sent to local newspapers and will be posted on the AES front doors and website when finalized. Race results will be overall, by gender and by age-group. 5 K Age group categories will include: 6 & under, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.Awards and Raffle13Immediately following the events, awards will be distributed to the 5 K Overall Male and Female finishers: 1st Place ($100), 2nd Place ($75) and 3rd Place ($50). All participants and volunteers are also eligible for the post-race raffle.Race Cancellation14Every effort will be made to hold the race, but in the event of extreme weather conditions, the race organizers reserve the right to delay, shorten or even cancel the event.
