_ The 3rd Annual Arizona Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K:

The 3rd Annual Arizona Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019.  All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

8:30 a.m. Registration
9:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk
10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Picnic
11:00 a.m. – Food

We're celebrating Ostomy Awareness Day with a Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K Run/Walk, followed by a Picnic in the Park! This Fun for All Ages event will include crafts for kids, Ostomy Bingo, corn hole toss, horseshoes, and food. Fishing is available at your own cost (kids under age of 9 are free).

RACE COURSE 

The run/walk will take place at Red Mountain Park, located at 7745 E. Brown Road in Mesa, Arizona. The course will start at the Dove Ramada before passing the Falcon and Hawk Ramadas and around the duck pond back to the finish and picnic area at the Dove Ramada. Come celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day with food, fun and entertainment!

PARKING

Ample parking is located on Sun Valley Blvd. off of Brown Road in front of the Dove Ramada.

PACKET PICKUP

Day-of packet pickup will be from 8am to 9am on October 5th at the race site.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female overall finishers, and the top 3 ostomates.

T-SHIRTS 

A unisex or female v-neck size Race T-Shirt and race bib are included with your registration fee. To ensure you receive the T-Shirt size you ordered, please register by Friday, September 13th. We will do our best to provide you with the T-Shirt size you ordered or a similar size, however, this is not guaranteed after September 13th.

OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH

Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies. 

FAMILY ACTIVITIES 

The Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be a family friendly event including kids' activities during the event.  Specific kids' activities include crafts, corn hole toss, horseshoes, Ostomy Bingo and fishing (license required over age 9).

FUNDRAISING 

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATION link at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
