_ The Fifth Annual Bigfoot Bio Bash:

Run or Walk to the Highest Point in Alabama!! The 5k Trail Race will begin at 8:30am near Bunker Tower at the intersection of Bunker Loop and finish with the one-of-a-kind Bigfoot Trail.

Bigfoot Biobash is a family friendly trail run and Conservation Festival on the highest mountain in Alabama: Cheaha State Park. Enjoy the day's events (Conservation Festival, Live Music, Food and more!) for all ages, and support your park! .   

The course is mainly comprised of trails, but there are also segments of the race on gravel and asphalt. The START AND FINISH LINE ARE IN THE SAME AREA. The 5K begins near Bald Rock Group Lodge and continues west on Bunker Loop. Participants will then follow Bunker Loop Road  to Tower Road where the course takes runners to the one-of-a-kind Bigfoot Trail. This trail was built with help from the JSU Geography Club, and highlights the seven principles of Leave No Trace! The Bigfoot Trail finishes near the Observation Tower at the highest point in Alabama. Then runner will go north on Bunker Loop and onto the Cheaha Express (yellow blaze). The course then completes the Upper Spring Loop (green blaze), and connects back to Cheaha Express an

The 5K Trail Race will begin near Bunker Tower at 8:30 am. Fun run and awards will immediately follow. The 1 Mile Fun Run will begin from the 5K Finish Line near the Observation Tower. There will be a Conservation Festival open to all from 8:30am until 2 pm.

Park entrance fee is included in early race registration, but confirmation email or admission pass must be shown at gate. Friends and family attending with runners must pay the park entrance fee. Follow signs to designated parking areas.

Packet pick up will be at the Cleburne Co. Chamber of Commerce (1335 Ross Street, Heflin) on Friday, September 7, 9am-12pm. Packets not picked up on Friday can be picked up at Cheaha State Park beginning at 7am on the day of the race.

Race registration is non-refundable. However, if for some reason you are unable to participate, you may transfer your registration to someone else until 08/31/18 (processing fee applies).

All participants in the 5K will receive a short-sleeve runner t-shirt if registered by 09/30/19. All participants in the 1 mile fun have the option to purchase a short-sleeve runner t-shirt.. Fun Run participants age 12 and under will receive a participation medal. Additional short sleeve t-shirts may be available for purchase.

Awards will be given to male and female winners in each age category. Age categories include: 11 & under; 12-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65 & over.
