Pace Center for Girls opened in Marion County in 2001, and since that time has served more than 1,000 girls. Our center is located in the Madison Commons building in downtown Ocala. We provide a welcoming environment to give girls the best possible support based on her individual needs and ambitions.

2019 Derby Day Participation Medal

RACE DETAILS
Enjoy beautiful Central Florida horse country on the morning of the Kentucky Derby.  Run, jog or walk this unique trail through the Florida Horse Park. 5k participants can take in the beauty of the park, and 10k participants get the added benefit of running through the Cross Florida Greenway trail.  The race will have a chip start and finish.

Proceeds will benefit Pace Center for Girls, Inc., Marion.  PACE provides academic and counseling  services to  middle- and high-school aged girls who are at risk for dropping out of school, emotional or behavioral disorders, and for involvement with the juvenile justice system.

RACE SHIRTS
This year’s “jockey silk” shirt is inspired by Kentucky Derby Winner, Country House.  Choose from a womens  v-neck, or mens crew-neck style.  Shirts sizes are guaranteed to everyone registered before March 1st, after that date, your shirt will be the closest size available. 

ENTRY FEES
5K Entry Fees: $25 until midnight Nov 30, 2019. $30 until May 1, 2020 at 9am. $35 race day
10K Entry Fees: $35 until midnight Nov 30, 2019. $45 until May 1, 2020 at 9am. $50 race day
One Mile: $15 at all times

5K 1st Overall M/F, 1st Masters M/F, Top 3 M/F in age division
10K 1st Overall M/F, 1st Masters M/F, Top 3 M/F in age division

Age divisions: 8 & under, 9-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

The one-mile is not a timed event.

Challenge medals will be given for the first 150 finishers in the 10K and the first 150 finishers in the 5K.

PACKET PICK-UP
Early packet pick-up will be from 12 noon – 5pm on Friday, May 1 at location to be determined.  On race day, packet pick-up begins at 6:30 am at the Florida Horse Park.

TEXT MESSAGE RESULTS
Be sure to sign up for the instant Text Message of your results as you cross the finish line. Results will also be posted by paper onsite, live online at this site, by text, by email, and the Jaguar Kiosk touch screen computer.

PHOTO FINISH
Step into the Pace photo booth before or after the race to have your picture made with your favorite Derby Hat and a "garland of roses" draped around your shoulders--just like a real Derby winner!!

MINT JULEP MOCKTAILS
It wouldn't be a Derby Day event without a nod to the official drink of the Kentucky Derby.  Our mint julep "mocktail" is a non-alcoholic mix of lemonade and mint syrup made from fresh, locally sourced organic mint.
