_ The 2018 Bakersfield Triathlon:
The Bakersfield Triathlon is one of the longest running events in the sport. Established in 1981, the Bakersfield Triathlon has earned a reputation as one of the most challenging triathlons in the U.S. The longer course has changed some over time but the addition of 2 laps on the bike up the Bluffs and a run loop that includes the famous Bastard Hill are enough to test the most seasoned veteran. The Sprint Course allows both the beginner and the fast & furious to have a good time without the steep hills. Relay teams are welcome in both events. The Super Sprint course is a great introductory event and a Kids Tri is available for the young ones.
Registration will open on June 14, 2018 and will be available online only. Register early for best price. If the event does not fill, there will be race day registration. This event will be capped at 300 participants. All participants must be a USAT member or purchase a one day USAT membership. USAT memberships will be available for purchase during registration. There are no refunds. Transfer of registration is available through Sept. 15 and only by approval and coordination of the event organizers
The Bakersfield Triathlon features an Olympic distance race for individuals and relays (2 or 3 person), a Sprint distance race for individuals and relays (2 or 3 person), a Super Sprint race for individuals, and a Kids Tri. Additional meals can also be purchased with registration. Free parking is available onsite for participants and spectators.
