We are so excited to host another running event on beautiful Mare Island! All finishers 21yrs and up will receive a FREE BEER thanks to our major sponsor the MARE ISLAND BREWING COMPANY! We will have a Half Marathon, 10K and 5K courses taking you through natural and historic sections of the island. We will be starting from the Mare Island Brewing Company coal shed location, running through over 100 years of Naval history and natural beauty, with a finish line party at the Mare Island Brew Co Coal Sheds!

Our Half Marathon course will take you through the historic naval yard along the east side of the island, to the highest point of Mare Island for beautiful views of the Bay, Mt. Diablo, and Mt. Tamalpais. It will then run you down by the Old Admiral housing including St Peter's Chapel (with the largest collection of Tiffany stainied glass in the West!) and out to the sweeping views of the Mare Island portion of the San Pablo Bay trail on the western side of the island. The 10K will take you by the Old Admiral housing and the San Pablo Bay Trail before heading to the finish. The 5K race will run by the Old Admiral housing before heading to the finish. 

All participants will receive a tech shirt and finishers medal. Awards will be available for Male and Female of every category. We expect to have categories of <20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Shirt sizes will only be guaranteed for registrations prior to September 1st. Any registrations after that will be on a first come first serve basis on the sizes that are ordered. This event may sell out and day of registration is not guaranteed. Refunds will also not be given.

                               Pace: 17min/mile Half, 24min/mile 10K, 48min/mile 5K

Course Info:
 

The run will be through the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard. This does include abandoned railroad tracks and uneven surfaces. Course subject to change for safety reasons if deemed necessary. Parts of the run through the San Pablo Bay Trail are unpaved but its is a compacted gravel path.

                 Apple Maps: 803 Nimitz Ave Vallejo, CA 94592

                 Directions: After crossing Mare Island Causeway, Turn left on Nimitz Ave.

                                    Location is 1/2 mile down on the left. Across the street from the 

                                    parking lot is a building with "BLDG 207" on one side and 875

                                    Nimitz on the other.(Picture is below)

The breezeway which will be where check-in is held will be in the doors below the large floor to ceiling window inbetween the wood paneling. There is also a picture below which is taken from the street. 

Please arrive with plenty of time before your event start time. As much as we want to be able to predict everything that will happen, all we know is that we are going to hold our race.

Parking is available at the location above or overflow is available in the parking lot across Nimitz Ave. 

What to bring:

Vallejo being on the waterfront is subject to morning fog. With temperatures possibly going from the mid 50s to 90s possibly by noon so please plan accordingly. Food and additional drinks will be available for purcahse. There will also be a band and games to play provided by our host Mare Island Brewing Co.
