_ The 37th Annual Spirit Run:
The 37th annual Spirit Run will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Fashion Island, Newport Beach. With 12 road racing events, a Family Mile, 5k Family Walk, and a Toddler Trot, Spirit Run has something for every age, from toddlers to grandparents.
Each Spirit Run finisher -- adult, child, and canine -- may receive a "Spirit" medal at the finish line. Also, adults and children compete to win prizes including cash, pizza for a year at Blaze Pizza, Dick's Sporting Goods gift certificates, and Balboa Candy gift cards. Spirit Run allows you to double or triple your fun by offering you the opportunity to race multiple races and to be eligible to win prizes in each one.
Spirit Run gives adults the choice of whether to buy an event shirt. Families registered with the Family or Grand Family Rate may also purchase adult and youth shirts. The youth registration fee entitles the registrant to a free youth sized Spirit Run shirt with an option to upgrade to an adult tech shirt.
In between the walking and racing events, participants and spectators enjoy a Youth, Fitness, & Dog Expo with a delicious items from our food truck as well as other food and beverages, live music, massage and shopping for adults, youth activities, health and fitness information, and a Dog Expo.
Spirit Run is an event for ALL schools! The net proceeds of this long standing community event benefit youth education and athletics.

Course Information
All races start and finish very close to the parking lot adjacent to Regal Cinemas. The 5k and 10k courses take place primarily on Newport Center Drive. The Elite, Open, and Dog Mile travel a point to point course on Newport Center Drive that begins with a slight incline with the majority an easy decline to a flat finish. The Family Mile and Youth 1/4 to 1 mile races are out and back courses on Newport Center Drive. Visit the Course Maps page under Participant Information at nmspiritrun.org for course maps.

To avoid road closures, please follow arrival directions carefully. Due to event day road closures access the Fashion Island area via San Miguel from MacArthur or Avocado from PCH. Eastbound San Joaquin Hills Road, Newport Center Drive at PCH, and around Fashion Island will be closed.
From Coast Highway – take Avocado Dr. north to parking lots adjacent to Edwards Newport Theatre at Civic Center (formerly Farallon) and San Miguel.
From the 405 Freeway – exit MacArthur Blvd., head southwest. Turn right on San Miguel Dr. follow signs to parking.
Arrive one hour before the start of the event to allow time for parking, packet pick-up and warm-up on race day.

Parking is available next to Regal (Edwards Big 6) Cinemas at Avocado Dr., Civic Center (formerly Farallon). and also San Miguel. Follow signs and directions of volunteers.
