Welcome to the 9th Annual Johnston Health CHAMPIONS 5K & 10K event presented by HealthQuest Fitness and Wellness Center. It is a timed run and fun walk event for all ages and fitness levels – definitely family, dog and stroller friendly.

NEW! The Champions 5K/10K is now a part of the Johnston Health Race Series. Now, you can register for both the Champions 5K/10K (April 4, 2020) and the Gobble Waddle 5K/10K (November 21, 2020) in one transaction. Two great races for two great causes - the Johnston Health Foundation Heart Fund & Healthy Kids Fund. Race series participants will receive a special long-sleeved commemorative t-shirt upon completion of both events.

WHY JOIN THE JOHNSTON HEALTH RACE SERIES?
Both events feature
1) USATF Certified Courses.
2) Accurate electronic timing.
3) A timer, t-shirt, snacks, water, awards, and other sponsor goodies for all participants.

DATES TO KNOW
Before the Champions 5K/10K

• Friday, February 28: Early Registration for the Champions 5K/10K closes at 11:59pm
• Thursday, April 2: Online registration closes for the Champions 5K/10K at 5pm (note: Gobble Waddle registration will remain live)
• Friday, April 3 | 7am - 7pm: Champions 5K/10K Packet Pick Up Day at HealthQuest. You don't have to check in at the event if you pick up your race packet on April 3. The packet will include your t-shirt, race bib with timer chip, pins and event day information. Pre-event offline registrations will also be accepted.

Champions 5K/10K Event Schedule - Saturday, April 4

• 8:00 - 8:45am: On-site registration & participant check-in.  Have selfie & team photos taken.  Visit sponsor tents and the Kids Zone.  Honor your loved ones by writing their names on our Tribute Wall.
• 8:40am: Opening program
• 8:50am: Warm ups
• 9:00am: Race kick off; (1st wave: Runners; 2nd Wave- Dogs Runners; 3rd wave: Walkers; 4th wave: Dog Walkers).
• Awards will be presented as participants arrive back to the race site. Enjoy sponsor stations, healthy snack, cool-down exercises, and games for the kids!

Gobble Waddle 5K/10K - Saturday, November 21

• Tuesday, September 8: Early registration closes at 11:59pm
• Thursday, November 19: Online registration closes at 5:00pm
• Saturday, November 21: Race begins at 9:00am

CHAMPIONS 5K/10K EVENT DETAILS

• Top three registered dogs in both male and female owner categories
• The top three finishers of the 5K event in each age division in both male and female categories

• Most Creative Outfit
• The Fast & The Furriest Cutest Dog Award
• Champion Spirit Award (for an individual with high energy and enthusiasm)

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Need information? You may approach anyone in bright green event shirts, visit our information tent or ask for event day info sheets from our greeters.
• First aid for humans is available at the registration tent; First aid for dogs is available at the Pet Zone tent.
• Parking is free and we will have a shuttle from the parking area to the event site.
• All dogs must be sociable and friendly and be on a fixed / non-retractable leash, and owners are required to pick up after their dogs throughout the duration of the event. Poops bags and trash cans will be available at the Pet Zone. Dog water stations will be available along the route, and dog snacks will be given after the event.
• This is a rain or shine fundraising event. Last minute changes based on weather will be posted on the Johnston Health Foundation's Facebook page.

ENTRY FEES
All entry fees are non-refundable and include a participant t-shirt, snacks, water, timer, and transaction fees. Preferred t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed for those registering after March 6. Online registration closes on April 2 at 5pm. Onsite registration will be available on April 4 at 8am.
 

5K Run/Walk
Before February 29, 2020:  $30 per person
March 1 - April 4: $35 per person

Note: online registration ends on April 2. Onsite registration available at packet pick-up on April 3 and at the event on April 4.

5K Dog Run/Walk
Entry fees also include a doggie bandanna. Each runner/walker can register 1 dog and the dog must be on a fixed leash at all times.
Before February 29, 2020:  : $35 per person
March 1 - April 4: $40 per person

10K Run
