_ The 2020 Rise Up 5K:

The 3rd annual Lexington Park Baptist Church Rise Up 5K will take place on Easter, Sunday, April 12, 2020, at John G. Lancaster Park in Lexington Park, MD.  Registration will begin at 6:30am.   A sun/Son rise service will be held at 7:00am, please bring a portable chair or a blanket if you prefer to not stand.  The race will begin at 7:30am. This event is open to runners and walkers of all ages.  Strollers are welcome.  Your registration includes a race goodie bag, race shirt (tech material), a sun/Son rise service, timed 5K for runners and walkers, post-race refreshments, and overall and age group awards.  Proceeds from this race will benefit a local Christian ministry.  

Event details and schedule

REGISTRATION: Pre-registration cost is $25 per person through April 10th.  Online registration closes on midnight April 10th.  Day of race registration will be $35 per person and shirts are not guaranteed. 

RACE SHIRT: registration much be completed by March 15th to ensure you receive a t-shirt.  Registrations received after this date are not guaranteed a race shirt.

COURSE DETAILS: the race will begin and end at the memorial statue straight back from the main entrance to the park.  Participants will run the trail around the main area of the park twice and around the disk golf area once.  Water will be provided at 1 mile increments.  The entire course is paved. 

SCHEDULE:

6:30 to 7:00am   Registration and packet pick up

7:00 to 7:30am   Son Rise Service

7:30am              Race begins

8:30am              Awards present to the first place overall male and female runners and to first, second and third place finishers for both male and female participants in ten year age groups for adults and separate children and youth categories. 

Additional Optional Events

11:00am Easter Morning Worship Service at Lexington Park Baptist Church.  An Easter Egg Hunt will be held during Children's Church.  Children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt.
