_ The 4th Annual "REC" & ROLL! PPCA's 5K Run/Walk & Kids Run for Auburndale Parks and Recreation:

Join us for our 4th Annual Polk Pre-Collegiate Academy (PPCA) 5K Run/Walk!

Runners and walkers alike will enjoy the scenic course of the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale. Participants will enjoy the energy, fitness, and fun the event brings to the community. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit students wanting to participate in the City of Auburndale Parks and Recreation Department youth recreation programs. 

The City of Auburndale’s Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to developing and maintaining facilities that enhance the quality of life and opportunities for students.  Auburndale Parks and Recreation establishes youth programs, maintains athletic fields and courts, services family-friendly parks and picnic areas, historic museums, and safe playgrounds.  You can show your support of youth recreation programs by supporting our PPCA "Rec" & Roll 5K and Kids Run charity event through race participation, monetary donations, and/or auction basket sponsorship. Proceeds from the event will also benefit Polk Pre-Collegiate Academy's programs.

Early registration until 3/15/20:  $25; afterwards $30. 

Event Amenities: Musical performances heard throughout the course.  All participants receive a finishers medal.  Awards are presented to top finishers in specific age categories:  Top three M/F beginning with 11 years of age to 90.  Age groups are divided into 5-year increments.  Registrations by 11:59 p.m., March 15th, 2020 are guaranteed a custom race t-shirt.  Extra shirts may be available on race day.  Water stations, clocks at 1 and 2 miles. Post-race food for 5K participants with bib number.  Extra shirts are limited.  

Safety is priority. Bicycles, roller blades/skates and dogs are prohibited on the course. Run/walk etiquette is encouraged. Strollers/joggers must start behind all runners. Stroller/jogger operators must yield the right of way to runners/walkers.  Participants are expected to exercise caution on the Van Fleet Trail and Lake Myrtle Sports Complex course.
